A proudly Black, veteran, and woman-owned enterprise, First Sip Studios has a remarkable journey of resilience, collaboration, and community support

The dynamic husband and wife duo, Dennis and Sammie Guy founded First Sip Brew Box in 2021. Connecting with local resources for small businesses, they met Abbey Mui, who had just started her nonprofit, re:Bloom, with the mission of helping women and minority-owned small businesses grow and maintain their website through accessible, affordable, and sustainable technology.

re:Bloom helped Dennis and Sammie build a website that empowered them to grow their business and their creative storytelling skills. The partnership between re:Bloom and the Guy’s grew beyond tech as the Guys were invested in re:Bloom’s mission. On working with re:Bloom, Dennis commented,

“re:Bloom makes you feel heard. The team listens to your vision and translates that into a fantastic website with stunning visuals and functionality. You must be ready to learn and have fun along the way.”

During the pandemic, the Guys felt pressure to pivot their business.  The duo transitioned to First Sip Studios in 2021, a digital marketing company focused on creative storytelling using captivating videos and related marketing tools.

re:Bloom was there to support Dennis and Sammie during their transition. re:Bloom’s team of volunteer developers and designers, they worked with First Sip Studio to create a website that effectively shared their vision, skills, and commitment to their community.

“The first time we worked with re:Bloom, we entrusted them to help bring our vision to life.  After our pivot during the pandemic from solely First Sip Brew Box to expanding to First Sip Studios we again needed a new website, and it was an easy decision to work with re:Bloom. I was also on the board for re:Bloom and saw time and time again the impact it had on small businesses.”

Today, First Sip Studios helps small businesses, nonprofits, and local government organizations achieve recognition and grow their businesses by creating a blend of photography, videography, print, and social media marketing tools. First Sip Studios is one of many examples in the region where investing in Black, veteran, and woman-owned businesses generates growth in our local communities. The Guys have used their entrepreneurial spirit to partner with community organizations, volunteering their time and expertise.

Dennis Guy's commitment extends to serving on the board of directors for re:Bloom, where he contributes to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee. His invaluable insights and guidance now flow back to re:Bloom, reciprocating the support that re:Bloom once provided to First Sip Studios during its foundational years.
